About Kaze by Tomoko

Welcome to my world.
My name is Tomoko. I’m Franco-Japanese, and although my background in physics has taken me across the globe, from Paris to Montreal, from the South of France to Lisbon, perhaps guided by the wind, my love for Japanese paper has never left me.

Since childhood, the art of Japanese paper and folding has brought me immense joy. The vibrant colors and delicate patterns of chiyogami paper (“the beauty of nature”) are a visual delight, whether shaped into garlands hanging on a white wall or earrings that trace the curve of a neckline.

I love creating these delicate, handmade objects, inspired by nature. Each piece is both an inspiration and a breath, an offering, light and subtle, carried and elevated by the wind.

A cherry blossom, even as it fades and falls from the branch, becomes all the more beautiful as the wind carries it away.
